Version One
For this assignment, we were assigned a partner and challenged to create a functional backpack out of cardboard and one roll of duct tape. In our design, we wanted to focus on a classy design inspired by luxury brands. We also were intrigued by the concept of figure and ground and wanted to create a pattern that shows a figure ground reversal in both a structured way and an abstract way.

Version Two
The second part of this assignment was to reiterate our first design but this time we were not allowed to use duct tape. Instead, we chose a mystery material and had to create a backpack entirely out of cardboard and our mystery material. I chose safety pins to be my mystery material. This project was completed without the assistance of a partner.

Version Three
In our final iteration of this project, we were able to use both our mystery material and a roll of cut tape to create our ideal bag. I chose to create a bag that would function as a hiking backpack but is also modular and can be taken apart and used as a crossbody bag and a small backpack as well as a hiking backpack when all pieces are connected. All of the other compartments are also removable and reconfigurable to suit the wearer's needs. This version was completed without the assistance of a partner.
